These approved for AMA roadracing hand guards are designed to prevent accidental brake or clutch lever actuation in the event that you collide with another rider. To install this guard you'd need at least 5/8ths inch available width at the end of the handlebar.

These are designed to be used only in conjunction with aftermarket 7/8ths inch diameter handlebars, because OEM handlebars do not provide enough spacing.

Lever protecting handguards are now mandatory for all FIM and AMA sanctioned events, but these guards can possibly save you from a pretty serious accident if collide with another rider.

*This part is designed to be used on aftermarket 7/8ths inch clip on bars only. The stock Aprilia clip ons do not leave adequate room at the end of the handlebar for these guards to attach securely.
