This part was developed in lower category World Grand Prix Racing where close racing often led to brake or clutch levers bumping into other riders fairings, backs, or even heads!

While less useful on a street ridden motorcycle the ProGuard system is a nice piece of re-assurance if you expect to find yourself fighting for every last inch of track.
