 About Us
AF1 Racing, inc. specializes in performance and aftermarket products for Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, MV Agusta, Suzuki, and Yamaha.  Our retail location features the latest Factory Pro EC997a eddy-current dynamometer with 4-gas EGA analysis.  We operate a huge online shopping mall that has everything from Aprilia OEM parts, tires, chemicals, performance parts like exhausts, braking systems, and Motovation framesliders.
We can performance tune just about any motorcycle including sportbikes, racebikes, scooters, cruisers, and even HDs.  For the 2004 racing season, we are helping out riders on SV650s, three Aprilia RS250s, a whole fleet of Aprilia RS50s, a few Derbi 50s,  a Honda RC-51, a couple of Yamaha R6s, and a couple of Aprilia Milles.  For the 2004 season, we will be at every CMRA racing event, and most of the LoneStar Trackdays and Ridesmart Trackdays.  We are also sponsoring the Formula 5 class of CMRA mini-racing.  Get on a souped-up Aprilia RS50 and come try to win our money $$$.
Our main emphasis remains Aprilia motorcycles and scooters.  We run the largest Aprilia enthusiast website (ApriliaForum.com) in the world.
ApriliaForum.com is THE source for Aprilia performance parts, accessories, tuning, information, and maintenance tips.  We are experts with the RSVR, Mille, Tuono, Falco, Futura, CapoNord, Pegaso, RS250, RS50, and the entire line of aprilia scooters.  ApriliaForum.com has years of Aprilia experience including RS50, RS250, and RSV1000 racing experience.
We ship parts daily world-wide to satisfy our customer's needs, from oil filters to exhausts, and everything in between.  Feel free to contact us with any motorcycle performance or product related questions.
What do we not do? We do not perform wreck estimates, motorcycle rebuilds, Japanese OEM parts sourcing, or valve adjusts on Japanese bikes.  For performance tuning, your bike should first be in good, clean, running condition.  We try to stay focused on complete Aprilia service, R&D, and performance tuning, along with performance tuning and aftermarket bolt-ons for all Japanese bikes.

Notes:

5/18/03:
Things have been going great, and we have been growing fast.  The dyno has been up and running for a few months now, and is proving itself as a valuable tool.  We also have some of the best tire deals in the city.  We even got to dyno test the Austin Ducati Superbikes recently (now that was fun!!!).  Stop by...you never know who or what will show up...we have a very friendly laid-back atmosphere.

We also have our first two employees.  Our first employee, Jayme Jernigan, former worked in sales and parts at Woods.  We now have his vast sportbike and racing experience.  He is the guy to go to for Japanese sportbike parts and accessories.  Our second employee is named Jon Francis.  He has been a long-time friend and has been involved with motorcycles and racing for a long-time.

We have greatly expanded our product line-up.  We now stock stuff for all motorcycles. We also have the largest Aprilia aftermarket parts selection in stock and online.

9/4/02:
Ed Cook and Micah Shoemaker met in January 2000, became good friends, and founded ApriliaForum in February 2001.  That website started out as just an information source and discussion forum for the new-to-America Aprilia brand.  Also, We  had the largest collection of Aprilia Links on the net on that website.

Later in 2001, we opened the ApriliaForum Shopping Mall, an online place to buy the latest and greatest in Aprilia aftermarket parts and accessories.  During this time, ApriliaForum, was run entirely out of our 2 bedroom apartment.  The website grew fast. By the end of 2001, we had over 550 registered members, and over 200,000 total hits.

We kept adding new products and more vendors through the beginning of 2002.  The website continued to grow fast.  By June, we reached the 1,000,000 total hit mark with over 1300 members.  We were quickly running out of space in the apartment, so we began to develop a business plan for opening a retail storefront here in Austin, Texas.  We also wanted a dynamometer very bad.  Performance tuning cannot be done without the proper instruments.   You need a way to accurately quantify and qualify your changes.  An eddy-current dyno with 4-gas EGA is the only way to go, in our opinion.  We chose the Factory Pro EC997a dyno with 4-gas EGA.

Our business plan for the shop went full steam ahead during the summer of 2002.  During the summer of 2002, we found a shop space to rent, secured loans for the dyno, and officially incorporated the AF1 Racing name.   The Factory Pro eddy-current arrives on September 30.

The official grand opening will be sometime mid-October 2002.  We are true enthusiasts of motorcycling, and we will be sponsoring a weekly bike night at our shop, along with horsepower dyno shootouts on the weekends.

Lots more to come...
